Archaeology is all about the discovery, recovery and interpretation of evidence of past human activity in its context in or above the ground, water or coastal marine area. Each month a member gives a presentation of something that interests them. As a result, we have learned all sorts of things related to archaeology which we may not have even heard of before. This year we have travelled the world from ancient trading routes in Norway to the waka which has been recently discovered on the Chatham Islands to the huge archaeological site under the city of Berlin or the Purbeck marble mosaic which is on the floor of Westminster Abbey.  Each time we find more evidence about how mankind has lived and influenced their surroundings.
