General Monthly Meeting

U3A is about involvement in learning new things, expanding horizons, sharing skills and experiences, making new friends, helping others to learn, accepting new challenges to show that age need be no barrier to learning or to helping others to learn, and to enjoy!

U3A is a self-help, member-run organisation for people no longer in full-time employment.  Members share their knowledge, skills and experience in a variety of ways through meetings, talks, social and group activities.

Browns Bay U3A (Started in 2000) is one of 80 plus U3As in New Zealand and has approximately 210 members.  It is organised by a Management Committee of volunteers, elected by the membership at the Annual General Meeting.  Activity Group leaders are also volunteers who give their services to pass on their skills for the benefit of others.
